Description:
We will be hosting a series of "Artist for a Day" events throughout Fairfield and Bridgeport, and we need volunteers from various backgrounds to help us with different aspects of these events.
Our "Artist for a Day" events are designed to help both children and adults from our communities, to learn and explore ways to express their artistic potential.
Extensive research has shown the many benefits of practicing art, and we want to share with the public that there is no need to be a professional artist to obtain those benefits. Anyone can explore their creativity at home and learn to let go.
We need volunteers for different aspects of the events:
-Promoters: Help us distribute and post flyers during the weeks before the events and on the day of the event, share information about the event on your social network or tweet on the day of the event about what we are doing.
-Helpers: Assist us in setting up and cleaning up on the day of the event. This would include setting up tables, art supplies, posters and the information table.
-Artists: If you have experience in art projects, help us lead kids and adults in different art projects, from fun art collages to experimenting with Japanese marbling inks and more!
-Outreach: Do you have good communication skills? Help us at the information table, by distributing brochures and postcards, helping us sign up new volunteers, and letting people know about our programs and what we do in the community.
All volunteers must be 16 & older, with parental permission for those under 18. Groups and families are also welcome.
Please keep in mind that you will be representing our organization at all times, and so presence and good manners are of utmost importance.
How to Apply:
You are welcome to participate of one or multiple events. There will be at least one to three events per month, from April to November.

Program: Economic Development, Murals Project
Volunteer Opportunity
The World Artist Network is partnering with the city of Bridgeport to assist in the revitalization of the city.
To do this, we have proposed the creation of murals throughout the city, in a manner much like the project that has been quite successful in Philadelphia since the 80s.
The project involves painting murals in different neighborhoods throughout Bridgeport, to create a sense of community by both giving run down areas a better appearance and involving the neighbors and business owners in the process.
REQUIREMENTS:
We are looking for volunteer artists with experience and education in the arts. While it is helpful, mural painting experience is not a requirement.
You will be involved in the design and execution of the murals, as well as serving as a mentor to the community members willing to paint alongside with us. Art can bring people from all walks of life together, and we want to show them how much fun it can be!
To apply please send your resume via e-mail at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
